Electrical Protection Courses

We offer Electrical and Mechanical Engineers a complete range of training courses designed to meet the needs of industry.

  • EP3

Is our 3 day electrical protection course,  delivered by our team of Chartered Engineers who pass on their knowledge and expertise through a balance of theory and practice, backed up by comprehensive course notes. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of Protective relays.

Motor, Generator, Transformer protection, instrument equipments, CTs, VTs and a practical protection co-ordination exercise.

  • Product Training

Relay product training can be provided at Manchester or at client sites delivered by our experience engineers. The course starts with an introduction to the equipment and its protective functionality and then progresses through to programming and injection testing.

The courses are very effective as the emphasis is hands-on training, allowing the user to become familiar by building knowledge from fundamental function and operation through to fault finding and diagnosis.

  • EDSA Training

As a continuation of a Study or fault level calculations, we provide EDSA training to engineers to enable them to understand, modify and recalculate load flow, fault level and responses of their electrical systems in alternate configurations. This popular course empowers the end clients engineers with a solid understanding of their system, allowing them to seek out efficiencies, experiment with theoretical configurations or to ascertain PPE requirements based on real conditions.

Courses are arranged throughout the year and conducted at various locations around the UK. We often provide courses tailored for clients at their overseas locations.

Next EP3 Course Dates:

► 17th 18th 19th September, Belle Vue Works, Manchester, UK

Course Syllabus:

EP3: To inform delegates of the practical and theoretical principles of applying protection devices to electrical power systems, for practicing engineers and technicians with experience who wish to improve their knowledge and understanding.

► EP3 Course Agenda

PP3: To inform delegates of the practical and theoretical principles of applying protection devices to electrical power systems. The theoretical/written exercises of the EP3 are replaced with hands on practical secondary injection experiments. For practicing engineers and technicians looking for a hands on element to training and protection relay understanding.

► PP3 Course Agenda

PR2: To inform delegates of the application of P&B protection devices within electrical power systems and the communication protocols of intelligent relaying systems, combined with hands on secondary injection experiments. For practising engineers and technicians with experience of working with (or intending to work with) P&B protection relays and systems who wish to improve their knowledge and practical understanding.
